FIRE AND WATER – THE SPIRITUALITY OF SAINTS FRANCIS AND CLAIRE OF ASSISI

by Jennifer Christ – well respected teacher and author in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Join us for this afternoon as Jennifer explores "A Spirituality For Our Age." It was the Franciscan spirituality that revitalized the Church when it was in desperate need and is still appropriate for our age. Is life too busy or has it become routine and listless? What is the balance between activity and contemplation, between doing in the outer world and being in the inner world? How are we called to spread the Gospel in a demanding, over-extended world while maintaining the care of our own souls? Through the stories and wisdom of Francis and Clare of Assisi, we will explore the fire of our passions and the cool waters of inner strength and stability. We will also examine how Francis and Clare complement one another as the male and female "bookends" of Franciscan spirituality.

The afternoon will begin with a light lunch after the 10:30 Mass and conclude by 4:00 P.M. Please register in advance so that we can plan to have sufficient food on hand to serve all. Free will donation

. Call the St. Joseph Christian Formation Office to register: 262-375-6500 # 120.
